Memorandum of understanding (MOU)
An interagency agreement whose purpose is to enable all parties to facilitate the conduct of certain efforts of mutual interest. For example, an MOU between a police department and a school system would specify the types of information to be shared, state the terms of the agreement, and include the signatures of all parties to the agreement.
